The Heart of Worship
As this week was the "Worship" week of the 40 Days of Purpose, it was actually difficult to narrow down the songs. All songs are about worship; in fact all life is about worship! That was what the sermon was essentially about. And what a testament our worship leader (and all of you in fact) was to that. The first time she was rostered on as a worship leader, and she was on crutches and in a cast. She still served and worshipped God through that barrier. And to those who filled in, thanks Again you were living testimonies of giving God worship through your talents and your time.
This team was a joy to play in. You all made such a nice atmosphere to work in. The early morning still didn't wipe the smile off your faces!
And as for the mechanics of the service, I thought that we did away with the nuts and bolts enough in the practice to really let loose in worship during the service. Nice lead in by drums BTW in the third verse of "In Christ Alone". Beautiful communion playing, and the equalising of the guitar and keys, I could have eaten it all up! It was so sweet!
I would encourage you all to notice the gaps that are still cometimes appearing in between the songs. I would like to have just a block of sound throughout consecutive songs. There are many ways of doing that, and as they come up I will suggest some. This is one of the aims I am looking to improve on this year.
So thanks a lot to you all, you all rock in a morning church Christian type of way (the best way to be for this service!). Have a great week.
