Church services for April 19, 2009

ROAD TRIP TO CROSSWAY
17th MAY LEAVING CHURCH AT 9am
RETURNING AT 4pm
RSVP TO SARAH ASAP

This week's service was on "Feed My Sheep" at the end of the gospels. There was a sweet children's story about the lost sheep, which I think everyone enjoyed. This week I was playing keys/pads in the morning and so I had a different perspective on the music worship.

So You Would Come

Thine Be the Glory

First of all, thanks for a great mix on sound. I heard it was also great FOH. I think that the new song went well. Because I wasn't playing, I could look around, and lots of people were singing it. It is a new version of an old song, I think. So it's great that lots of people know it. The songs actually were great. And playing in the band was also great. What did you think? I found it hard to hear everything aside from my own foldback. All in all I think a smoothly themed service.

One point was that I thought that perhaps the preacher might have gone up before the last song (but he was interrupted by his son!) to continue a response time, but we had launched into the final song. All of this focus on the song after the sermon is a lot of pressure! It's best I think to be aware again next time that the preacher has the call on what to do with that song (and they might also pull the plug on the final song altogether). But really I think it still went fine. Let me know your thoughts.

My Heart Will Trust

Beautiful One

Thanks for your thoughtfulness in the song choices. I am really liking this 3 x 2 sets of songs. What do you think? I think that new song is taking on. And your leading amongst you all is improving. I must remember to make sure that you fully know the entry into songs before we stop practice, as the second last song showed. But not a big hiccup. I thought the second song was an inspired choice. That really gets people going, I think, and particularly of note because of its position in the service. Do that again!

Sorry again about the guitar volumes. After I told you to turn down, I heard that you might have been too quiet. My bad. We'll have to look at having the drums over the baptistry because it is so echoey. It created problems with stage noise. I think people are looking into that. All in all ok. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks again and to those who filled in for others. You have gone above and beyond the call. All of you may you be blessed this week. That is my prayer.

Love you all!
