NEWS BREAK - WHOLE WORSHIP TEAM ALL IN SUN 22 MARCH 2-4pm
Thanks to all of you who had a part in this week's services. We had a big day as it was the National Day of Mourning for the Victorian bushfires. We also had a sermon on John 15:1-8, "The Vine and the Branches". I appreciate that the worship leaders didn't have the scripture to work with when picking songs, but you did a good job under the circumstances!

Firstly the band worked well together, good leadership by pianist, and sensitive to the worship leader. I suggest to err on the side of making the songs too fast rather than too slow, as if they go too slow, then they will drag. I think that the second and third songs could have been just a touch faster. I would always pump the rhythm guitar and the piano up in that kind of format of band, as it gives the really interesting middle voices. Sound was good, and balanced, though, particularly the singers. In hindsight, as I mentioned, perhaps the voices were too top heavy, but with the worship leader singing parts, it helped. Well done, girls, it's so refreshing to see you up there! Thanks, data, for keeping up with all of the things thrown to you at the last minute. You have a good head for this game!

6. Lord I Lift Your Name on High
Wow, what a young band! The average age was 19. What strength you have both being able to play and sing competently enough to be in the team, but also you are spiritually capable too. Be encouraged. Great song choice, I think that if there are slower songs, in the beginning, that they are played rocked out rather than to lose momentum. It shouldn't happen, but usually the first songs are to get people in the mood rather than the congregation worshipping straight away. Great piano, solid chords. I suggest now to add some rhythm into it, which I will help with next time you are on. Nice sound, bringing up the vocals at choice times. Great sharing of leading, good data, from one who isn't even on the roster!
All in all I thought the services flowed well. It seems that Hosanna is a good song to get into worshipping, along with You Are My King. Have a great week, and don't forget to put your bit in too - you can email me or now you can leave your comment below!
